a bit of display lag / slow redrawing

So, whenever I have Deflemask open and idle and doing nothing at all, my system is noticeably slower.

I know that even when Deflemask not playing music it still refreshes the display. But perhaps there are certain things that do not need to be updated?

Also, I've learned that placing a very short (0.01s or even less) delay before or after each screen redraw helps CPU usage quite a bit.

I'm using the latest version on Linux, but I notice the lagging on Windows as well. Making the window larger exaggerates the issue.

I tested the tracker on many low end PCs and it do not have a noticeable impact on OS performance. Btw, there's a max_fps value inside config.ini file that you can tweak to slow the display refresh rate.

Interesting. What is the "low end" if you don't mind me asking?

My old HP Mini for example, it has a 1.2ghz Atom CPU, an Intel HD Graphics card and 1GB of ram. Running Windows XP.
