GBS2GB
« on: October 26, 2015, 03:34:57 AM »
Has anyone ever herd of this? it basically does what it says on the tin, it converts a .GBS file into a .GB ROM file.
Its allot more reliable than Deflemasks GB ROM exporter.
GBS2GB can be found here.

I should mention that the site that hosts the tool may contain advertisement banners, so if you have an ad blocker plugin for your browser, you may want to tern that on. or if your browser is capable of disabling javascript, that also works too.
Anyway, here is an example to show you that i'm not kidding.

I tried using it but I got an error message that says:
"The load address on this GBS is less than 470. There's not enough room for
the GBS header to co-exist with the GBS playing program"

I'll attach the .gbs file I tried to use it with
If you know what's the problem, then I'd love to know because this seems like a pretty nice program from your description, I just wish you'd have given some instructions on how to use it...

OK, so I played with a few settings in the program, I guess it's not as reliable as I thought. I set the value in the code area to 7D50 and ticked the checkbox that says 0150-7D50, converted it into a .GB file, and it played, but crashed half way through the song.
I think it doesn't like Deflemask generated GBS files vary much.
Maybe you could try trimming down the DMF to see if that helps.
Anyway, here is the result I got out.

I see... What do you mean by "trimming down the DMF"?

Just make sure the generated .GBS fits with the programs file size limit. Thats all I can say.
I'll be testing some more GBS files in the future to see how far I can go with this thing.
