WIP: Impulse Tracker -> DefleMask converter

Hello, everyone.
I've been working on a commandline utility which can convert Impulse Tracker .IT files to DefleMask .DMF files.
I wrote this because I was working on creating Sega Genesis "de-makes" of songs, and I wanted to have the song as authentic as possible. So, rather than manually transcribe notes, I wrote a program to do that for me.

So it's a bit naive. At the moment, it assumes you're using Sega Genesis system, does not attempt to match tempo at all, creates one dummy instrument per channel, and also assumes the channels in the IT file are in the same order as the channels in DefleMask (so for instance if you have a drum track, it MUST be channel 6 in the IT file). I also plan to add pattern optimization at some point, so it will detect duplicate patterns to reduce file size.
So basically, the program's purpose is to transcribe rows and patterns *exactly* from an IT file to a DMF file. It's then up to you to assign instruments, get the tempo correct, etc. I did this since I had already tried MIDI to DMF converter but it did not work correctly at all, the notes were spaced way too far apart and even on the fastest settings it was way too slow.

It does support sixth channel as DAC, if you pass the -dac command it will insert the 17xx command on the sixth channel. Additionally, it remaps each new note it encounters in order, so that it will map properly to the samples table in DefleMask.

Anyway, here's a video where I show how it's used.

And here's the final product of the song used in the video

This is really cool! What are you planning to add before the first release?

I've just implemented duplicate pattern detection, so if two patterns of a single channel are the same it will insert the same number for them in the pattern matrix.
I'm also thinking of allowing for other systems. For example, maybe by default it converts to Genesis, but you can pass, say, "-nes" to have the output song set to the NES system. Something like that.

Might also investigate having it try to auto-calculate tick settings to match tempo, but quite sure.

Wow this is incredible job! I'm very happy to see new programs to make more and best music in DefleMask. <3
