Noob questions - metronomes and matching BPMs (?) help plz!
« on: March 22, 2019, 01:50:10 am »
hi!

1.Sorry, just checking out this software and I've managed to make a few sounds, but it's confusing not having a metronome (i'm not the visual type lol). Is there a button to activate a metronome? Or similarly, has anyone got one saved as a file I could load so that I could just mute when I want to export the track.

2. Is there a guide to or maths for getting this thing to match up with BPMs? Trying to make a track at 120bpm for my Japanese Sega Megadrive, but got no idea how to set the base time/hz in order for the Megadrive to read it at the right speed. Thanks!

1.Nope, there's no metronome.
2. There's no guide for that. You'll have to keep testing until you get something close. Probably your best shot would be using 09 an 0F commands.
Good luck and have fun.

Ah, thanks for the info. Yea, I did some experimenting, by making my own metronome (just a short synth that blipped every 8 rows) and then exported the wav and synced it in Ableton. bt1 s05 over 0A ntsc seems pretty darn close to 120, so I'm gonna try that. Thanks!
