Suggestion: bring back MA-x support
« on: October 05, 2018, 07:52:07 pm »
Deflemask started as a YMU759 (MA-2) tracker, but that was removed at some point (Why?). Yes, it was just a chip that was used for ringtones, but it was based on OPL3, right? OPL3 is a very capable chip!

YMU762 (MA-3) is even better, with 32 channels and 29 waveforms (OPL3 has 8, OPL2 has 4). I think it would be awesome to have a full-featured tracker for something like MA-3 to explore its potential. Some interesting sounds not possible in other chips can be done here. And since OPL3 is so similar, an OPL3 mode could be done easily. It also has two more 4-op algorithms over OPL3.
