[GB] Endless Road (original)
« on: March 20, 2017, 09:42:18 AM »
My 4th Gameboy tune, written for FOReVER 2017 "other 8bit music compo".

It's the first time I used WAVE channel with different waves. Some of them are straight/slightly modified copy of Pegmode's sounds. Sorry and thanks! :)

There were 3 tunes in the competition - by RoccoW (#1st), LiSU (#3rd) and me (#2nd).
All were played from my classic DMG.

You forgot to mention the fact that you used my snare drum :P
(My instruments are free for anyone to use, but I would have at least appreciated credit)

Other than that, nice track 8)

Hmm, I think I remember drawing it from scratch - it's just triangle wave + noise, there is no big philosophy here, so I guess similarities are sometimes unavoidable :)

Sorry for what? I don't mind at all! Glad to see them being put to good use.
Great song btw.

I specifically meant the noise part of the sound, which other than the initial envelope volume being one lower is exactly the same as the one I use. Not just similar, identical. Like I said, however, you're free to use my instruments if you want to, but I would appreciate credit.

BTW I typically use the pulse channel for tom sounds rather than the wave channel.

Oh yeah, before I forget: In the first pattern, second pulse channel, you're using the "set wavetable" command (10xy) when you should be using the "set pulse width/duty cycle" command (12xy). I have attached a version of the song which fixes this issue.
