8-Bit Keys Theme (Commodore 64 SID 8580 Cover)
« on: July 12, 2017, 01:17:55 PM »
I genuinely enjoy watching videos from The 8-Bit Guy as well as videos from his second channel 8-Bit Keys. As a 20-year old who likes anything retro, I thought of covering the theme to 8-Bit Keys on the Commodore 64 with the SID 8580 chip. The song itself has had remixes, but the original was composed by The 8-Bit Guy himself on a Yamaha PSS-470 keyboard. You can listen to the original song by clicking on this sentence. I'm not sure if anyone else had covered or remixed this song on a SID chip, but here is my take on the song. Enjoy!

I love that guy! He always tells you interesting facts, and even stuff I never knew about certain consoles/computers! :D

Same. Me, I'm just interested in old stuff in general, as well as looking at and listening to songs from old consoles/computers that many people my age would not be interested in at all. I mostly make PC Engine or Genesis music in Deflemask, but I do find the SID chip to be quite interesting, seeing that it was the chip in the Commodore 64/128, which was a popular computer back in its day.

He's where I saw that "Sound Blaster" toy keyboard. This guy knows his stuff. I wonder if he knows about Walsh Function Generator sounds like how some old Casio keyboards did their sound generation?

Toy keyboards from our youth were truly marvels of their time. It would be neat to see some of that same tech used in Deflemask someday (besides the all-PCM keyboards).

BTW, great job, JetStar1997!  8)
