FM is very difficult to work with. Once you figure it out though... it's pretty limited. :P I guess that's how they get you...
This dmf was made ENTIRELY with custom-made instruments for the SEGA Genesis. If you want you can post you own instruments or instrument rips, I guess. :)

Very nice!

I love to see original songs with original instruments.

Also, limited the FM in witch way?, I think that the FM is not a limitation, actually the bottleneck is in the count of operators that you have. For example, the YAMAHA DX7 has 6 FM Operators, and the count of sounds that you can achieve is almost infinite.
However, John Chowning said that 4 Operators is ENOUGH to have infinite sounds.

What I meant is that I can only get brassy, gritty, or organ-like sounds out of the YM2612 sound processor. :P
I guess you're right, though. There are quite a lot of sounds you can get out of it.

Hi Littlelamp100,

Nonsense, my freeeind! ;)

Check out my song through this post: http://www.delek.com.ar/forum/deflemask/instrument-presets-(ym2612)/msg1288/#msg1288

Ocean Melody shows what can be done with YM2612. This is the first song with a vocal lead synthesized by YM2612... not to mention the french accordian, and vibraphones towards the end (my favorite accomplishment). I used the Amplitude Modulation LFO to get those perfect vibes.

I didn't even use Deflemask, and Deflemask is a more accurate emulation.

The possibilities really are almost endless! Keep at it buddy, your music is really good so far!

BTW,

Love that bassline in your "Cruisin" song. The whole song sounds like "Ristar" music. :) Very festive and funkaaay!
