Deflemask port of one of my FT modules(plus a bonus bug report!)
« on: September 11, 2012, 11:17:53 pm »
So I saw that DFT was updated, and decided to cover something I made in MT/FT over to DFT, just to dip my feet into the 2a0x support in DFT. I've, in the process, found a but where, on play, the volume for the noise will be ignored below a certain level and just brought down to 1.

Here is the module, it is one of my few good covers. It is a cover of Chrono from Chrono Trigger looped short out of laziness. Seriously, with the program I was using for the listening, it would have taken forever to finish it. A month or two at least.

EDIT: Also, D-5 sounds a little off.

AWESOME COVER.

Btw, I could not replicate the bug of the noise volume, could you please upload a module example?.

Observe the only slight reduction in instrument volume but dramatic reduction in playing volume on the two noise intruments(0 and 2) compared to the original module.

These instruments are close to what I originally wanted to use but had to switch out.

Oh I see, that is because you manually set the volume to 7 before the envelope, so the envelope will have his maximum on 7. The envelope will be decreased by 8 (F-7), so you will not hear any sound below 9, because 8 is 0. This is very useful when you want to use the same envelope at different global volumes.
To avoid this, simply add an F to the volume column to restart the global volume.

EDIT: Could I include your cover to the provided modules of DefleMask?.

In recent versions the part where I use the EDxx commands sounds less like I put the snares a little closer together and more like they're 1 frame apart.

The EDxx behavior was changed because it was wrong, because envelope was starting before the note triggering, now it starts at the same time that the note on, just the way it should be. It was reported by jrlepage. You have to tweak your track in order to get the same effect with the current correct EDxx behavior.

Oh yeah, there was a bug after all!, the envelope was freezing if there was two or more EDxx commands. Please re-donwload DefleMask!. Thanks.

Thanks, delek! I was wondering why that happened.
