This is the initial arrangement I got of this song. It doesn't have any precussion besides a preliminary high hat style backing. I made the bass entirely by myself but I poached the guitar and strings from the deflemask instruments. I still need to find better ones.

Here's the original song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIXU6uF5nzE

Also, unfortunately, the song runs closest to the speed of the original at 63Hz. It's slightly faster then. 62Hz is slower than 63 is faster. It still sounds reasonably well at NTSC (60Hz).

Anyways, first version is attached.

EDIT: Also, here's some more details on how I made it. I followed  a midi file that I peered at in audacity, a program I had lying around on my harddrive. When I first thought of reading a midi, I thought I'd look at it in rosegarden. Turns out I'm able to more easily decode the notes in a sideways piano roll style sequence. It also had some neat time indexing at the top and piano keys at the left, which I could scroll around to better see which note it which.

At first, I didn't know if the song would fit into the "tracker" way of 32 (or 64) notes. In fact, at first, it looked like it didn't because the bass lines up weirdly. I kept going and it turned out that it fit perfectly into 32 beats per pattern.

That's what made me fall in love with the original. The stupid midis I found around didn't have that and it made me sad. :(

Brighter news, I got some really nice headphones for christmas today. I broke my previous cheapo headphones. I'm now able to hear the sounds of the instruments much more clearly.

I love the wet sounding bass instrument as well. Great touch.

The strings sound like they come from Sonic The Hedgehog's Green Hill Zone, which is great. I personally love that instrument, and also a very good touch.

Sounds like the composer discovered his leftovers a bit dated to me at the time of creating this tune. Makes me scared to look underneath and actual rotting pizza... <shivers> ;)
