  • Hi there!
I need help with this cover!

I'm confused with my patches and I'm trying to make them similar to the midi instruments used for the original. I know that the FM synths in the YM2612 soundchip can only do so much but I hear other artists doing covers and remixes with instruments that sound like the real thing. I'm also having trouble with the natural properties of an instrument. I've been reading the manual and there's effects on how to change the properties of the oscillators but it doesn't help me a lot. I wasn't able to finish it because of of my frustration.
Here's the original song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvaQkQDD3_4

Here's a few instruments you could use for piano/organ, ride cymbal and guitar. To get that swaying effect on the organ at 34s you could use two channels per note and change the pitch for each one (e5xx) and add a tremolo effect (07xy or volume command).
The rest sounds pretty good to me. Your electric piano would work better at 1m16 of the song.
