some DACs that I ripped
« on: December 27, 2013, 02:38:29 am »
Hi. I saw something here on the forum from about June of this year (still 2013) that had to do with ripping samples from SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive ROMs.

I may as well add some of my dumps here. I have dumped so far Contra Hard Corps, The Lost Vikings, TMNT The Hyperstone Heist, Mortal Kombat, Sparkster, and Panorama Cotton.

Attached is the DAC Pack for those.

Hi Demick12,

Thank you for the contribution.

Here is one I found, that many of you guys might already know of now.

http://www.alyjameslab.com/download.html

Aly James, creator of the FMDrive VSTi, has released a busload of ripped DAC's from many Genesis/Mega Drive games. They all appear to work just fine in Deflemask, and sound really good in terms of quality.

You did good though, Demick, because Aly did not include ALL the samples you did. For instance he did not include Panorama Cotton, Lost Vikings, and some different note variations for TMNT orchestra hits which is helpful to have. There are probably still other samples not included in that DAC pack so do keep on sending ones you think will be helpful.

Thanks again, and cool intro theme for Deflemask, btw! ;)

(JUST A NOTE: I do not advocate switching over to FMDrive or anything like that. I prefer Deflemask because of it's ease and accuracy for porting over to cartridge, it's versatility with different Chip formats, it's chip accurate effects processing, and many other features that make it a breeze to use. I like to use FMDrive to record Special Mode and CSM Genesis sounds, and then play them through Deflemask using the DAC channel.
Both Deflemask and FMDrive are incredibly cool pieces of softwares each with their own strengths, and can compliment each other in your musical toolkit.)

Anyway, this is an invitation to basically bring samps to the show off your music part of the forum at Delek's suggestion. Anyone here who wants to put their samples here, they may.

And, btw, thanks, marcb0t for the reply.
